Unit Eleven

   1. 我想知道张明是否能来参加我们今天的聚会。
      I want to know whether Zhang Ming is coming to our party tonight.

   2. 他们打听吉姆在哪儿住。
      They enquired where Jim lives. / They are enquiring where Jim lives.

   3. 谁也不知道这本书是谁的。
      Nobody knows whose book it is.

   4. 他的想法太过时了，而且他看上去有点傻似的。
      His ideas are really out of date, and he sounds sort of silly to me.

   5. 这个家族的历史可追溯到五百年前，有几个人还曾在不同朝代做过高官。
      The history of this goes back / can be traced back to 500 years
     and several members were once senior officials in different dynasties.
